1. Our services & scope

We provide bookkeeping, cross-border tax preparation, Florida sales tax filings, and LLC compliance support. We are bookkeepers and authorized tax preparers, not Certified Public Accountants (CPAs). The specific scope, deliverables, and fees for any service are defined in a separate written engagement.

2. No client relationship

Accessing this website, submitting a contact form, sending an email, or scheduling a consultation does not create a client relationship. A client relationship is established only after a written engagement agreement has been signed by both parties.

3. Informational purposes only

The content provided on this website is for general informational purposes only and should not be considered legal, tax, accounting, financial, or investment advice. Visitors should consult a qualified professional regarding their specific situation.

4. Client responsibilities

Clients are responsible for providing complete, accurate, and timely information. Clients remain responsible for reviewing and approving all filings, reports, and submissions before they are transmitted to government authorities.

5. Confidentiality

We treat all client information as confidential and implement reasonable safeguards to protect sensitive financial and personal information. Information will only be disclosed where authorized by the client or required by law.

6. No warranty

All information, content, and services available through this website are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Desjardins Accounting shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive, or exemplary damages, including loss of revenue, profits, business opportunities, goodwill, or data. Any liability arising from a specific service engagement shall be limited to the fees paid for that service.

8. Force majeure

We shall not be liable for delays, interruptions, or failures resulting from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, cyberattacks, internet outages, government actions, power failures, or third-party service interruptions.

9. Cross-border services

Desjardins Accounting operates from Canada and provides services remotely to clients located in Canada and the United States. We do not maintain a physical office in the United States unless otherwise stated.

10. Intellectual property

All website content, including text, graphics, branding, logos, source code, and downloadable materials, remains the exclusive property of Desjardins Accounting unless otherwise indicated. Unauthorized reproduction, distribution, or modification is prohibited.

11. Non-affiliation

Desjardins Accounting is not affiliated with any financial institution, including Mouvement Desjardins, Desjardins Bank, or the Fédération des caisses Desjardins du Québec. Any resemblance in name is coincidental or related to the founders' family name.

12. Governing law & jurisdiction

These terms and any dispute arising from the use of this website or our services shall be governed by the laws of the Province of Quebec and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any legal action or proceeding shall be brought exclusively before the courts located in the Province of Quebec, Canada.

13. Privacy

Your use of this website is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how personal information is collected, used, stored, and protected.

14. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of our website or services after a change means you accept the updated terms.
